"Like Water for Chocolate"By Laura EsquirelIn "Like Water for Chocolate" by Laura Esquirel, Tita, the main character feels she will always be unhappy because, by tradition, she must serve her mother for her whole life and never marry. She spends the majority of her time in the kitchen and the book goes by month, giving a new recipe and the story that surrounds it each chapter. The book is full of magical realism, as there are scenes like the one where a tornado of fighting chickens bares a hole through the Earth, and where the main character cries so profusely that her tears flow down to the bottom floor of the house. The words in the puzzle represent the dishes Tita makes as well as themes and characters in the book.
Some of the puzzles that people list for the public get indexed by the search engines (like Google). Some people find those puzzles and cannot figure out how to make a puzzle of their own. So this page now has the navigation sidebar. There are now buttons on the puzzle so that you can get a clean page, in either HTML or PDF, that you can use your browser's print button to print. The PDF format allows the web site to know how large a printer page is, and the fonts are scaled to fill the page. The PDF takes awhile to generate. Don't panic! |
