Important New Report - "Women and Alzheimer's Disease: The Caregiver's Crisis"

This past June, "Women and Alzheimer's Disease: The Caregiver's Crisis." was issued by Working Mother Research Institute. The report is sponsored by GE, with knowledge support from the Alzheimer's Association. Women now make up two thirds (66%) of the estimated 5.4 million Americans with Alzheimer's and provide the majority of unpaid care for loved ones suffering from the disease.

2 dementia _____ People with this have significantly impaired intellectual functioning that interferes with normal activities and relationships. They also lose their ability to solve problems and maintain emotional control, and they may experience personality changes and behavioral problems such as agitation

3 caregiver _____ failure of an individual to maintain contact with others or genuine communication where interaction with others persists

4 isolation _____ A progressive degenerative disease of the brain that leads to dementia

5 stress _____ Someone who is responsible for the care of someone who has poor mental health, physically disabled or whose health is impaired by sickness or old age.

6 long-term care (LTC) _____ A state of extreme difficulty, pressure, or strain
